Discipline:: 5 Faith Skills

In Upstreet this month, your child is learning about Discipline. Discipline is doing what you need to do now so you can grow stronger. To show discipline, your child is learning five faith skills to help build their discipline. "For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come." I Timothy 4:8.

The Five Faith Skills
1. Navigate the Bible: If you want to know God better, read His book. Discuss with your child how to find verses. Find verses together and read the Bible.

2. Personalize Scripture: If you want to know God better, remember His words. Discuss with your child why you need to memorize scriptures. Memorize this months verse together.

3. Talk to God: If you want to know God better, talk to Him. We discussed how to talk to God.
P-praise God
R-recognize things we have done wrong
A-Asks for things and ask for help
Y-Yourself and others
Pray with your child each night and go through how to talk to God and why you talk to God.

4. Articulate Faith: If you want to know God better, talk about Him with your friends. Discuss with your child how to discuss Jesus with friends.

5.Worship with Your Life: If you want to know God better, make Him more important than anything! Discuss with your child what worship is and means. Discuss how you can worship God with your time, money and life.

Partnering with parents is great for the eternal impact of the heart of your child. Thank you for guiding them at home with Family Times Virtue Pack, Refrigerator Door, and God Times. Feel free to email me if you have any questions on using the above resources at home.

What is so NEW and SPECTACULAR about this resource are the ideas it gives parents to guide conversations at play, car, bath, and cuddle time.
